
This is the same legislature that brought us the First Energy bribery scandal and which ignored the Ohio Supreme Court finding legislative districts to be unconstitutionally gerrymandered.

The conflict in Issue 1 is between the citizens and the legislature. It is an essential check and balance on legislative power. The existing constitutional right of citizens to amend the constitution by initiative was passed in 1912 in response to an u nresponsive legislature.

I suggest this issue is much broader and more important than any of these partisan concerns. Our view: A 'yes' vote on Issue 1 would drive dagger in Ohio's 'heart' I have read many arguments on Issue 1 and believe that many characterize the issue as a clash between left and right, progressive and conservative, Democrat and Republican.
